Stony Mountain Botanicals, is located in Loudonville, Ohio. Loudonville is a small community of about 3500 people. We are on the edge of Mohican State Forest and just 10 miles away is Malabar Farm State Park. Stony Mountain Botanicals is a small family operated business established in 1993. We are fortunate to live in this rural area, privileged to have our family involved in our work, and for our work be a healthy part of our day to day lives.

Over the past 15 years, we have grown and become busier. Gradually, we lost sight of some important principals we wish to live by in order to meet the demands of our growing business. After looking closely at the situation, we believed that we needed to re-establish our priorities - that it is important for us to maintain a small, personable business and to keep our business family-friendly. As a result, we are reducing the variety of supplements and foods we offer and fully dedicating our focus to providing you with the best bulk herbs and essential oils.

In 2006, we built a new warehouse near our home from which we ship our orders daily. The new building is beautiful! We built it almost exclusively with green building materials. There is not 1 piece of plywood or OSB in the whole structure! As a victim of chemical poisoning, I need a work location that is not off-gassing toxic chemicals and that is away from the daily exposures to toxic chemicals we experienced in the village. Our new location is helping to meet our need for a safe work location and is helping to meet our family needs too.

Note: As of February of 2008, we are only accepting orders online as I try to accommodate my physical disabilities. We also had to stop offering many small sizes of herbs to reduce the repetitive arm movements I must do each day. Hopefully these changes will be enough to allow me to find a pain free daily work level. I have no choice but to make drastic changes as I attempt to avoid the necessity of closing our business.
